I attended a retirement do for C. last night.  Now C. is an genial, old-school civil servant who worked his way through the ranks and was actively involved in union activites and real ale.  We hit it off because we both liked horror & fantasy fiction (and would have competitions as to who could make the worst Lovecraft-related puns) and I would fix ( Read more... )

Yesterday was spent on a good cause - packaging clothes for Belarusian children who are visiting Derbyshire as a respite from the radiation from Chernobyl.  They get to see unique things like the sea, do things like visit Center Parcs and have fun until they go back to Belarus where they spend time playing, going to school, helping out on the farm ( Read more... )

I've hit the sleep barrier.  Four hours today and yesterday but during times I don't want to.  I recognise this pattern, it feels like I'm living 2004 in reverse now but that doesn't make me entirely happy.  2004 wasn't pretty.  However, I have tools which help and these make it easier - so these may appear on the website.

Today was relax day - a necessary evil.
